Terms of Use

By using the One Tribe Carbon Offset Projects API, you agree to the following:

1. License You must not store or republish the data without prior written consent from One Tribe. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the API data solely for the purposes outlined in your service agreement.

2. Data Freshness and Rate Limits Project data is updated hourly. It is your responsibility to handle any updates accordingly. API access is subject to rate limits please see details in rate limiting. Exceeding these limits may result in temporary suspension of access.

3. Acceptable Use You agree to use the data in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Any misuse or unauthorised distribution of data may result in immediate revocation of access. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:

   • Reverse engineering the API
   • Creating competing services using our data
   • Automated scraping beyond authorized rate limits
   • Sharing access credentials with third parties

4. Security Requirements

   • You must keep your API key secret. Do not expose it publicly, share it, or commit it to public version control systems
   • Implement industry-standard security measures to protect API credentials and data
   • Report any security incidents or unauthorized access immediately
   • Use HTTPS/TLS for all API communications

5. Service Level Agreement

   • The API aims for 99.9% uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance
   • Scheduled maintenance will be announced at least 48 hours in advance
   • Support response times for critical issues: 8 hours
   • We reserve the right to deprecate API versions with 6 months notice

6. Liability and Warranty One Tribe shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from use of this API. The API is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

7. Termination One Tribe reserves the right to suspend or terminate API access at any time, for any reason, without notice. Upon termination:

   • You must cease all use of the API
   • Delete any cached or stored API data
   • Return or destroy any confidential information

8. Changes to Terms We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the API following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
